Choose a Rust server before starting a wipe

A Rust server is a longer-term choice than a single match. Before investing in a base, compare the reset schedule, group rules and progression settings with the time you can actually play.

What to check before joining

  • Confirm the next map wipe and whether blueprints reset too. Weekly or monthly labels are a starting point; check the operator announcements for the actual schedule.
  • Read the team-size and alliance rules, gather rates and PvP or PvE restrictions. A solo, duo or vanilla label should be checked against the full server rules.
  • Use recent player activity to compare quiet and busy periods. A population count alone cannot tell you the age of the wipe, queue length or how evenly groups are matched.

Read activity and ping together

Open a server and use the Day, Week and Month views under Recent player activity to compare the observations available. Gaps mean missing observations, not necessarily an empty server. The listed ping is an estimate; check your latency in-game before deciding. Reported players and available slots can change before you connect.

How to join

Open the server details and choose Copy address. Launch Rust, press F1 and enter connect IP:PORT with the server's game connection address. If an address is a query port, find the matching server in Rust's browser or confirm the game port with the operator.
